Question on Notice
No. 1409
Asked on 14 November 2023

MR J KRAUSE ASKED MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT AND MAIN ROADS AND MINISTER
FOR DIGITAL SERVICES (HON M BAILEY)

QUESTION:

With reference to TransLink Network Officers (NOs)—
Will the Minister advise the number of NOs who have completed training since 1 January
2023 and, of these, the number who are still serving as NOs with TransLink bus operators?

ANSWER:

I thank the Member for Scenic Rim for the question.

The Queensland Government is committed to providing a safe public transport network for
everyone. For this reason, the Department of Transport and Main Roads employs a frontline
enforcement workforce of network officers (NOs) to assist with deterring fare evasion and
anti-social behaviour on the South East Queensland passenger network.

Since 1 January 2023, 72 NOs have completed training and, as of 21 November 2023, 65
NOs are working with delivery partners across the network.
