JOURNALIST: "Minister, when will the government build this vital piece of infrastructure for the people of Queensland?"

MINISTER: "I am pleased to say the government has been very pro-active in this area, consistent with our 'Building a Better Queensland by the Year 3000 Plan'. I have appointed an oversight and consultative committee heading by someone with lots of academic letters after their name to report directly to me and to come up with options to be considered by a Departmental Review Committee.

"The government has invested an initial $1000 into this process. With a thorough review underway, it would be inappropriate for me to express support for one particular option or to provide a timeframe. All options are on the table.

"The important thing is that we are getting on with the job. Once the committee produces its findings and they are reviewed, I will move quickly to have a media conference on site, where the media and the public can see the concept drawings and drive-through video. A glossy brochure will go up on the departmental website.

"So, you can see the government is serious about this and I will be hitting up the federal government for 100 per cent of the cost. I have told Prof. Whatstheirname I want a thorough examination of all the possibilities so we get the right solution. The task force has been given all the time they need and, as I say, I want a thorough job done. Queenslanders deserve nothing less."

Are they still considering the bi articulated bus plan they had in mind? Being high frequency and electric with dedicated transit lanes and improved bus stops on the way will really improve things.
