Rail150: Thank you Queensland Rail!

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport passengers has congratulated all who have been part of Queensland Government Railways and Queensland Rail on achieving 150 years of continuous operation. We particularly want to acknowledge the Queensland Rail staff and Heritage Volunteers that have made the Rail 150th year events such a spectacular success.

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"Back in January events kicked off with a steam train to Northern Queensland."

"Various commemorative events have continued throughout this year. All done well, and appreciated by Queenslanders and visitors all over Queensland where the steel rails continue to connect our far flung communities."

"Rail was the transport mode that opened up Queensland and Australia. Rail will once again flourish as sensible, safe and efficient transport systems continue to develop."

"Congratulations and thanks to all involved in the 150 years of continuous operation of rail services in Queensland, and thank you for the celebrations and such wonderful community engagement and events."
