Logical routing is challenging? Really??

Is it too hard to run buses along main and sub arterial roads?

Low density? Didn't stop BCC running a BUZ to Belbowrie though cow paddocks.

The network needs to be simplified, same or similar resources would be used.

Having a read of the document, what has come out of it is a bit disappointing. A few additional morning services, a few more services in the interpeak, and higher frequency to the train station - all quite straight forward. The document also alludes to retaining the 453 & 454 - not great.

There needs to be a total service overhaul, not rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. I am doubtful TransLink will pursue what is needed unfortunately...
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

That "review" is a shocker. Nothing more than minor tweaks that should be business-as-usual improvements.

One of the most public-transport-resistant areas of Brisbane City, and yet even here "residents consider it acceptable for trips to involve one transfer, rather than needing a direct service". It may be the first time anyone at BCC has actually admitted this. But it's not reflected in the review outcomes at all.

No, nothing has really changed from years ago. It all looks like a political play to me, and the rules are unchanged: Fixing the existing network is sacrilege. Just ask TL for more money instead. That way when they say no we can blame the state government.

I have always suggested to advocate for the Riverhills Express to be extended to Darra train station when the duplication of Summers road is complete. This will provide a full-time service to the station providing a bi direction link to the train.

I didn't make a submission as I thought that an isolated review wasn't needed at the time, costing time and money. Even though improved services would be beneficial; my opposition to the review is due to the lack of current road infrastructure, being unable to cope during peak periods causing delays for increased bus services. This would inturn put other services out of timetable order.

It's good that some tweaking of services are the outcome for the interim prior to metro and and the Sumners road upgrade being operational and in full swing.
