It's alright Bob, really it was my fault for missing the initial bus and not making the Nambour service.  Did you guys have to detrain at Caboolture as well?

I like those shots.  Quite interesting to see a variety of rolling stock on the same stretch that I travelled on.  I saw that Sunlander twice that day - once at Roma St and when it passed Landsborough.  What's with the ICE marked "Special"?

No worries.  We travelled by Rail bus from Caboolture to Elimbah first trip, and then to Beerburrum by Rail bus, second trip, and a couple of us pushed on to Landsborough by Rail bus, third trip.  We had planned to use the Rail bus for the final leg Beerburrum to Landsborough, but caught the bus from Caboolture and Elimbah as Citytrains had not yet resumed at that time.

The big benefit for us was of course with the delay was that we got to see all the trains being moved. If the line had re-opened at 4am as scheduled we would have more than likely missed that!

The ICE with the special desto was just relocating, no pax.

Nice pics Bob, I knew there was something wrong yesterday when i didnt hear the 4:35am and 5:26am leave nambour.

Went for a ride today and got the up Coorylander IMU110, sat on 120km/h most of the way. Got SMU246 from Caboolture at 16:54. Smooth ride both ways, will be good when the timetimble gets tightened and full speed can be achived.

Roll on Beerburrum-Landsborough!!

PS: Noted SMU 263 & 266 on a Rosewood bound service at Morayfield around 16:30ish

The new stations are high platforms.  Also to add, automated platform annoucements installed (eg 2 min warning, 3-car warning, etc).

Yep and now we have to mind the gap!

mufreight

Yes they did it right the platforms at Elimbah and Beeburrum are at carriage floor height.
The gap between platform and carriage is less than the height difference and gap created at the majority of stations and it is worth pointing out that no one has claimed that the gap between the full height platforms at Central platforms 5 and 6 which incidentaly have a curve at the Fortitude Valley end or the high level sections of Roma Street and humps at Fortitude Valley and now Petrie pose any risk.
