Bus Service Bald Hills

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House there is currently inadequate public transport for residents in Bald Hills. With the increasing number of families and elderly residents relying on public transport they are becoming extremely frustrated with the lack of action to provide a bus service. At present, many residents in this area are required to walk in excess of a kilometre to access a bus service.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to provide a bus service for Bald Hills residents.
Half baked projects, have long term consequences ...

Bald Hills currently has two PT services:
1. The 327 service run by TransLink (Link)
2. The PPT service run by BCC (Link)

Both are pretty poor in their own ways. The PPT service only runs in peak, but at least when it runs it is reasonably frequent (every 15 minutes or so). Visibility may be an issue with this service though as there appear to be no stops, and it is an additional $1 on top of the TransLink fare ($10/wk). The 327 runs hourly, cuts out at 6pm and doesn't run to the train station (or on Sunday).

The area served by the PPT service is probably doing well given the poor access situation - it is one of those bits of suburbia cut off by motorway and natural features that it will have poor service whatever you do. The area served by the 327 could definitely be improved service wise, however I'm not sure whether ducking into Bald Hill station - particularly if it involves a right turn in & out to access the station eastbound - would save much time compared to simply transferring at Strathpine.

Yet another example of the bus network needing a full remake really.
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

The 680 was recently improved. Maybe it needs to go high frequency 7days?
