Carseldine growing very strongly, assuming due to surrounding developments such as Fitzgibbon Chase.

Just goes to show how if transport (particularly rail) is available near new housing developments, people will use it as a primary choice of commuting.

Similar thing seems to have happened at Dakabin. (All the more reason to install lifts)
Virginia seems to have dropped by about 25%  :yikes:
Do I really need to clarify?
Sarcasm and rhetorical questions don't translate perfectly into written form, do they?

Zone changes and access to other stations via road modifications (gateway closure at Boondall, Roghan road connection to Bracken Ridge, Telegraph road upgrades, bruce highway overpasses etc) have helped in this with many stations. You had people living in Strathpine driving to Bald Hills because of the Zone change. Same with North Lakes/Redcliffe driving to Bald Hills or Petrie/Warner driving to Bray Park/Strathpine. People cut across to Dakabin because rat running is faster than Anzac road traffic which you can see after the bridge was opened in 2014. Factor in the expansion and opening of the mbrl line and you will have 4.6 million trips which is only a boost of a few hundred thousand trips which isn't a lot when you consider that the mbrl line has actually taken patronage away from other bus routes and stations - something that is evident with the amount of school kids that now use the train for the short haul run to schools which are inflating the figures.

Carseldine still has very poor public transport. Fitzgibbon chase still only has peak hour direction only buses. Nothing else. Housing to the west of the station is going in yet only the 335 is the closest thing running to it. The first 335 outbound service arrives at the station after 9am.  The 329 is there for Lacey Road but that's got less daily services than the 330 during 1 hour of peak hour. I think its about 8 peak hour rockets that service Fitzgibbon chase and most run empty. There are no direct Bracken Ridge-Carseldine buses via Fitzgibbon chase. Due to recent road modifications its allowed for more easier access from Bracken Ridge and Taigum. A big boost has come from the closure of the North Boondall station parking which has seen a lot of Taigum residents using Carseldine. Yes there are housing estates going in on both sides but the only thing that is booming in the area is traffic congestion and rat running. Something that's been made even worse due to the closure of the Northbound on ramp on Sandgate road as all that traffic now flows down onto Roghan road, through fitzgibbon and into Bracken Ridge. Traffic flow has also been altered due to the upgrades between Roghan Road-Telegraph Road along Lemke road and the widening of Telegraph road from two lanes to four.

But yes, Carseldine has had a patronage kick up the backside but its not for the reasons that you might think.
