Looks like the QR Officers and G:Link officers has been trimmed down - to 19 AOs and 27 CSOs respectively.  Used to be a lot more.
Rgds,

Unless stated otherwise, Opinions stated in my posts are those of my own view only.

Declining Gold Coast bus patronage is disappointing.  All the figures I have suggest the high frequency network is growing but is being more than off-set by people abandoning the coverage network because it has become a joke.  The upcoming network changes will not fix that issue, we need more investment full stop.

Brisbanetimes --> TransLink Tracker reveals latest on-time running for buses and trains

QuoteAlmost one in 10 Brisbane buses do not arrive on time, but at least it is improving.

TransLink data shows 92.2 per cent of buses in the Brisbane region arrived on time in the January to March quarter.

Across south-east Queensland, on-time bus running has been steadily improving for months, reaching 97.92 per cent in the latest figures.

In Brisbane, bus on-time running has also been mostly on the rise since at least mid-2015.

But Brisbane bus commuters endured poorer on-time running in January to March, when compared to other regions across south-east Queensland.

The 'Brisbane' bus region mostly covers Brisbane, 'northern' mostly Moreton Bay Regional Council, 'southern' mostly Logan council, 'eastern' the Redland City Council area, 'western' the Ipswich City Council area, and Gold and Sunshine coasts cover their respective councils.

People who caught the bus in the northern region or eastern region were most likely to have their bus arrive on time.

The news was bad for train commuters last year after they suffered a plummet in on-time running from October to December to 93.43 per cent, due to numerous Queensland Rail cancellations, which led to the Strachan inquiry.

But there has been some improvement in the latest results for train users, with peak on-time running increasing to 94.9 per cent in January to March.

Trains are considered on time if they arrive within 3 minutes and 59 seconds of the timetable - either early or late.

When it comes to buses, they can run two minutes early or six minutes late and still be considered on time.

The benchmark is 90 per cent for buses running on time and 95 per cent for trains, meaning QR achieved just below the acceptable on time running result for January to March.

Brisbane City Council Public and Active Transport chairman Adrian Schrinner said unlike trains, buses had to deal with inner-city traffic congestion, which was why the Brisbane Metro was so important.

"Brisbane Metro will give public transport passengers a dedicated route that eliminates major bottlenecks and is fully separated from other types of traffic," Cr Schrinner said.

"For several years, council has been highlighting the need for additional river crossing capacity for buses, due to delays of up to 20 minutes on the Victoria Bridge during peak times and the Captain Cook Bridge operating at capacity."

Cr Schrinner said the data was more evidence that Brisbane needed both the Brisbane Metro and Cross River Rail to meet growing demand for public transport in the inner-city.

The TransLink data also shows train customer satisfaction with reliability and frequency at lower levels than last year.

Opposition Transport spokesman Andrew Powell said there was also an increase in customer complaints - more than 13,000 this quarter.

"It's clear commuters have had enough of the series of cuts, cancellations and stuff-ups with train services," he said.

"Train on-time running is still not meeting the required benchmark of 95 per cent.

"With 1800 train services cut from the timetable each month, the trains should be on time, all the time. It's not good enough."

Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Jackie Trad said the government was delivering the Strachan inquiry recommendations.

"We are already seeing great results from these reforms with cancellations decreasing by more than 70 per cent in recent months and peak on time running improving significantly to 94.9 per cent," Ms Trad said.

"We know integrating our transport network is key to relieving congestion and ensuring buses and trains run on time.

"That's why we have committed to fully funding the congestion-busting Cross River Rail project and are working with the Brisbane City Council on the Brisbane Metro project."

Ms Trad said satisfaction with affordability was also increasing, following Fairer Fares.

QR chief executive officer Nick Easy said QR was focusing on improving its on time running performance and reliability.

"We are committed to returning our service to the high standard we have delivered in the past and remain focused on further improving the customer experience," he said.

"Every day, an enormous amount of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure trains run safely and on time for our customers."

Incorrect.  Trains are assessed as to OTR " 4.  Less than four minutes after the scheduled arrival times on all lines, except Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast where the benchmark is within six minutes .. " Footnotes page 7. TransLink Tracker 2016-2017 Q3

Trains don't run early as if they are they are held.
