Checked out Tarneit and Deer Park on the way back from Geelong yesterday.

Tarneit is now V/Line's busiest station apart from Southern Cross ...

^^Acland Street looking different traffic free. Are they solar volatic cell shade structures?  Just curious if they will stand the test of time in reference to design? But nice to see the street more pedestrian friendly and air/noise pollution free from cars which was the main aim.

ozbob

Not sure about the shades
But is rather neat the effect and environment
Definitely a success  :-t :tr :wlk

I notice that too each time compared with other Australian cities! Why the dwell times are so long at stations, the stop start inbetween stations and the 30kph crawl from South Brisbane to Bowen Hills via Roma St and Central on many occasions?

Heading off to Sydney tomorrow. Airport Line to City is fast and very frequent- up to 6 mins off-peak. It's also always fun to run along the mainline passing the slow T2 line trains through the Inner-West section.

One area that hasn't been readdressed since the Newman cuts.
