Be prepared for more trucks on the road this coming week.  The ARTC are taking strike.

All NSW trainlink services are cancelled (bar dubbo xpt, which is truncated).

NSW TrainLink services affected by the Australian Rail Track Corporation industrial action

Industrial action by employees of the federally run Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) will mean several NSW TrainLink Intercity and Regional services will be replaced by road coaches and buses from Wednesday 3 August until Sunday 7 August.

Intercity services on the Hunter and Southern Highlands lines will be affected, as well as all Regional services except the Dubbo XPT.

While the industrial action by ARTC employees is out of NSW TrainLink's control, we'd like to apologise for the inconvenience this will cause.  Many of our train services operate on track that is owned and maintained by the ARTC, so unfortunately any disruptions caused by ARTC employees' industrial action will affect our services.

On the Hunter Line, buses will replace trains:
• Thursday 4 August from 12 noon to 2pm
• All day Friday 5, Saturday 6 and until 7am on Sunday 7 August.

On the Southern Highlands Line buses will replace trains:
• south of Moss Vale only on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 August
• along the entire line on Friday 5, Saturday 6 and until 7am on Sunday 7 August.

From the morning of Wednesday 3 August, coaches will replace Regional services across NSW until Sunday morning with the exception of the Dubbo service, which will operate normally to Wellington and then be a coach service (Thu, Fri and Sat only). The XPT evening service to Melbourne on 2 August will be replaced by a road coach.

NSW TrainLink will keep you informed about any changes to regular train services.

You can book on a later service if you wish and should allow additional travel time if your service is to be replaced by a coach.
Further information is available by phoning 13 22 32.

On the positive side.  It will allow NSW trainlink and Vline to conduct some much needed maintenance and downtime on some of the most overused fleet of trains in the world.
