More evidence of the charade that is PT in Queensland

Good Morning,

TransLink publishes regular monthly performance updates.  These cover bus, ferry and rail.  Light rail on the Gold Coast is not reported, despite carrying more passengers than ferry.

The only regular measure of Gold Coast Light Rail performance is in the three-monthly TransLink Tracker, which is always late.

Queensland Rail publishes daily ontime performance statistics.  Why is Gold Coast light rail overall performance not regularly reported?

On-time running, services delivered and patronage should be reported weekly for all modes.

Queensland is very poor in terms of timely data reporting for public transport compared to all other states.  Perhaps they try to bury failure?

Maybe it is time a new public transport authority was set in Queensland.  An authority that can actually progress public transport.  We suggest a statuary authority - Public Transport Queensland.  Properly resourced and given the authority to deliver.

Best wishes
Robert

From the Q2 TransLink Tracker.  They now publish aggregate bus OTP, but do nothing about it in the case of Brisbane?
The poor performance of Brisbane bus region has been known internally for years.   Do nothing.

Gold Coast Light Rail MONTHLY SERVICE STATISTICS

Greetings,

After doing some more homework I have discovered that there are monthly service statistics published for Gold Coast Light Rail.

They are available here --> http://ridetheg.com.au/get-up-to-date/

This should be publicised more!

Excellent!

Best wishes

That information has been out since day one, just not the patronage and just not reported on consistently with everything else.

Yes, I had completely forgotten about it!

But it does show how fragmented the reporting is.

Bus and Ferry - only objective in the TransLink Tracker but nothing for Ferry OTP > https://publications.qld.gov.au/dataset/translink-division-quarterly-reports
3 monthly

Adelaide Metro has the right idea.  Weekly summaries of all modes.  Too hard in Queensland.

The monthly snap shot data - is subjective mumbo jumbo in the main > http://publications.qld.gov.au/dataset/translink-public-transport-performance-snapshots

Forward Q2 Tracker:
