with such an outlook, one would ......"hope"......the Sunshine Coast Rail line proposal will get a move on and IF possible, include a direct link to the Airport [maybe the plan already does].

:frs: forgive me but in QQQQqquuueeeennnsssllllaaannnnnnddddddd......one does not get overly optimistic about such things.

SEQ, where our only "fast-track" is in becoming the rail embarrassment of Australia!   :frs:

I would hope the Sunshine Coast Council's long-term plan is to connect the airport to the light rail network (first stage scheduled for delivery by 2025 and going from the new Maroochydore CBD, aka 'Sun Central' to the Kawana Health precinct).

Their plan does mention linking into the bus transport network and the heavy rail line.

From their website:
Imagine a fast, frequent, high-quality light rail service along the Sunshine Coast!
Council is undertaking a feasibility study for a light rail system between Maroochydore and Caloundra. Eventually the system could link most major destinations and attractions along the coast and connect with buses and trains.

and this from the website answers our questions:
Council is looking at a number of stages for the light rail – Stage 1 from Maroochydore City Centre to the Sunshine Coast Public University Hospital at Kawana (approx 14km) and Stage 2 from the Sunshine Coast Public University Hospital to Caloundra (approx. 9 km), with additional future stages to the Sunshine Coast Airport and to Beerwah.

There's no need to shout.

Pardon, I used size 12 font...hardly uncommon!

^ Well actually, it is.  You're the only one who does it routinely.

Size 10 is the forum default. On this forum, almost all other posters use size 10 font, unless for emphasis or to make a point.

If people have trouble reading the font, they can choose to zoom in on their computers. No need to use size 12 font - it comes across as shouting and to a member of the public, may make them read your posts as being less professional or not worth reading.
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?

^ Interesting that Palisade put money into GC light rail - augers well for SC light rail between Maroochydore and SC airport.  But all the money going to GC right now, for the Commonwealth Games ...
