Thanks Jeff, excellent photographs.

It always amazes me that such a key transport asset, the NCL, can be so vulnerable with the bridges that have remained unprotected for so long.  It is good that they are being progressively protected at last.

Oversize vehicles will still whack into the beams, with potential risks to bystanders and the vehicle operators/passengers themselves but at least the rail bridges will be a lot safer.

There is one more rail bridge that would cause a cataclysmic derailment event if it were to be damaged like the Price St Nambour rail bridge was back in January 2014.
It is located approx. 200m north of the Price Street Nambour rail bridge, at the intersection of Blackall Terrace and Coronation Drive (extension of Currie Street, the main Nambour thoroughfare).
