Thought it's worth getting a separate discussion going about how the Moreton Bay bus network should look post MBRL opening.

Some of my thoughts:

-P315 should be deleted with the resources used to for local routes in the Redcliffe area that Feed into Kippa Ring/Sandgate Stations.

-660 should go via Rothwell Station, and possibly terminate there, if the 680 is covering Anzac Ave.

-Ditto 665 and 668 should extend to Rothwell Station (I'm curious... the 665 seems to only have 2 minutes between ending the route and starting the next one...is this true?)

Side note, im surprised how good the Kangaroo Bus Lines network is good Mon-Sat for and outer suburban...Seems to be 30 min frequency, and well timed connections.

-695 should terminate at Kippa Ring, get rid of the section into Rothwell. It should run on Sundays, and run every 30 minutes.

-Western  part of the 695 should become a bidirectional  route linking Peninsular Fair and Rothwell Stations, Via Hercules, Euston, Nottingham, Chelsea, then Morris Rd, then Rothwell Woolies and Rothwell Station.

-690 should run half hourly, but upon reaching Redcliffe, should travel west along Anzac Avenue to Kippa Ring station.

-Northern Section of 690 split into a separate route, running from Scarbourough to Redcliffe, Via kippa ring.

-698/699, Shift onto Scarbourough Rd rather than Prince Edward Parade.

-693/694 and 696 and 697. redesign to have less complicated routings.  Get rid of the sections that run along the waterfront, since they are within 400m or less of Oxley Ave.

687/688/689...Send all to Mango Hill station, with 30 min frequency.

681/682...Get rid of Petrie connection, with timed connection at Mango Hill. Revise route as road network expands and housing estates are connected (Eg as Capestone is developed, send bus via there and Mango Hill East station)

683 Extend to Kallangur Station

675/ 676/ 677/ 679
Design will change over time as Griffin develops.

Something I knocked up.

Key points.

-Simplified network design for the Redcliffe Peninsular
-Deception bay area routes to feed into Rothwell
-Murrumba Down/Griffin area routes cleaned up to remove all the loops and backtracking
-Kallangur area routes have radical change for the better by making use of the new Plantation Rd overpass, allowing straighter, direct links to North Lakes.

-Damn it, this would have been so much better if the rail line had run elevated via Anzac Avenue to at least swing by North Lakes.

Route to Dakabin would have to turn via station car park. Doable but tight.

Funnily enough, the Dakabin route was the last one I chucked in, primarily as coverage for the last little bits I could spot that were outside an acceptable walk, and because of local demands for some sort of feeder to Dakabin staton. Could potentially be peak only?

Never realised how bad the traffic arrangements were there. No way buses could fit under the underpass.

I guess you could add an extra 2km to the route and turn around at the roundabout between Ann St and Marsden Rd.

Probably better off via Ann St. The turn on Alma Rd (near the station) is very tight and narrow. I worry my Triton won't fit under that bridge!

Peak only I'd say. Bus to Petrie off peak. The 683 is currently peak only and in one direction.

Blue route through "Black Duck Reserve" (North quarter Estate) Murrumba Downs won't work either. Full of traffic calming - I wouldn't attempt to tow a trailer through there let alone drive a bus. Estate is downhill towards McLintock drive so I'd take that route.
