The major highlight was the implementation of the new fare structure for SEQ.  Clearly a winner.

Some progress made with bridge strikes.  More work needed though.

The major low-light is the rail timetable debacle of course.

Highlight - continued reliability and patronage gains for G:Link with no signs of abating.

Lowlight - not a single bus network improvement for the Gold Coast all year.

Highlight: PT being the focus issue of the council elections earlier this year.
Lowlight: the sheer idiocy of so much of what was proposed.

Lowlights:
- Total train network collapse following the introduction of the MBRL due to a lack of drivers
- Signalling issues with the MBRL (although given the lack of drivers, it was probably better it opened in October instead of March!)
- BCC metro is proceeding, despite being ill-conceived
- Still little progress with bus network reform
- No progress on CRR, probably going to end up postponed another 3 years
- Lack of Next Generation Ticketing meaning no passes etc. like on myki
- Issues with the NGRs

Highlights:
- Opening of MBRL
- BCC "Bus network partnership" with state government - hopefully the start of something positive
- Fairer Fares package

Some of this is the fault of the previous government, some of the current government, some from both. Regardless, it is a total trainwreck! Will take a lot of fixing in 2017 & 2018.
Is it really that hard to run frequent, reliable public transport?
