Westside and Park Ridge industrial action delays

We have been advised of some impacts to Westside and Park Ridge bus services this Friday 23 September due to a dispute between bus drivers and their employer, Bus Queensland.

These impacts are expected between 10am and 2pm (with possible residual delays until 3pm).

Please avoid any unnecessary travel during this time, wherever possible. If you do need to travel, plan your journey ahead and allow extra travel time in case of delays. We apologise if you're affected by this industrial action.

Westside buses service the Ipswich and Springfield area. Park Ridge buses service parts of the Browns Plains and Logan area.

Many people will be left stranded at bus stops waiting for buses that are not coming.  This will add to the growing community rage against Bus Queensland and mediocrity generally.

Westside buses service the Ipswich and Springfield area. Park Ridge buses service parts of the Browns Plains and Logan area.

There is already a lot of community concern with the ramshackle bus service particularly around Ipswich and Springfield and today's action will no doubt see more beleaguered punters left stranded at bus stops waiting for buses that will not be arriving.  Children left stranded may be at risk.

Drivers employed by Bus Queensland will be taking Protected Industrial Action as part of an ongoing fight to improve wages.

Transport Workers Union members employed by Bus Queensland will be stopping work between 10am and 2pm on Friday the 23rd of September in an escalation of their fight for a fairer pay rate.
