Browns Plains bus station upgrade

What is the Browns Plains bus station upgrade project?

The Browns Plains bus station upgrade involves enhancing the existing station facility located within the Grand Plaza Shopping Centre, as well as proposing four new indented on-road bus stops along Browns Plains Road.

The upgraded bus station and proposed new stops will increase capacity for the local area and significantly improve travel time and reliability by providing an efficient, safe and comfortable facility. The upgraded station will also provide a more accessible facility with bicycle storage facilities and a designated kiss 'n' ride area for dropping off and picking up passengers.

The hell for?
Its def needed due to the 140/150 factor at peak..ob/ib buses constantly dodging each other.... should be interesting to see which buses get use of the b.plains rd stops...
Dont see a planned ticket machine.....luckily the privates can do the topups...perhaps they are holding back on installing one until post cubic contract....and hopefully better machines which can dispense gocards...

You would think the BT services would be out on the road using the platform stops seeing 140s and 150s are run with longer vehicles.  That would let them put 6 bays back into the interchange platform to separate the local buses out from each other.

But that sounds like poor management. Similar to Chermside. There are tons of ways that interchange can be improved starting with stop redesigns and that handles way more buses than what Browns Plains does.

It's also interesting to note only BT buses are in the design plans :P

Browns Plains badly needs an upgrade and it has been an issue since HCVs were introduced.

The 140/41/50 will go out to Brown Plains Rd and will allow for layover space, easier manoeuvring and room for growth at the original interchange.
