A couple of interesting points on Vienna PT.

Trams meet at a city loop that goes around whole older part of city. So a bit of a walk for some.
.
Most trams are actually quite old, but new ones are quite impressive. Only new trams and u bahn is pram or wheel chair friendly.

Like other areas of Europe, tram lines are at times being removed and replaced with subway. I feel mostly they are tolerated, not loved.

The city loop has lots of track infrastructure, but a closer look shows a bit doesnt see much use if any and probarly left over from closures.

The main regional station, or hauptbahnhof is a few stops from city centre, unlike many German cities, its also under a major rebuild.

Thanks!  Sounds very exciting ..

Enjoy your travels.  Are the trams standard gauge? I have heard that some of the tramway systems are smaller gauges ..
