Hi cars, for something different and actually functional we used the Slovenian Car Train Most Da Soci to Bohjni and back for a day trip to Lake Bled.

Its as basic and low cost as it comes.
- 1 Loco
- 4 flat wagons, drive on the train from platform height from the side at one end and drive off the other the same way off the side.
-The ramp to platform is fold down sides on wagon
- Guard sells tickets directly to drivers, 18Euro one way for our car, 15Euro on way back. Price difference no idea but its a common occurance from what our Farm Stay hosts said.
- You stay in your car as there is no pax cars. Actually hard to open doors due to train sides.

And for the safety nazi's
- Train is loaded 10-15min prior to departure, (only 2 cars on our trip, picked a 3rd at middle station)
- There is no tie down of cars
- At Most Da Soci when leaving the loco has to shunt ends
- No walking of the train after, this took 5min if that to swap ends.

There are 3 stops, two stops are either side of a 6km long tunnel and the train does a few shuttles during the day on this only, but we went full distance which is 45-50min as the terminus is near our accommadation. The alt is 2hr on a twisty mountain road. The Nth end terminus is a popular tourist/ski area near Lake Bohjni and the more popular tourist spot, Lake Bled 15min away.

I saw speed spots up to 70km/hr intially and there was some sideway movement making pics hard to get. Lots of tunnels. The mother 6km tunnel is actuall a large double track bore, but the 2nd line stops 100m in and used as shunt neck. The track remains on right side heading nth the whole way and there are some amazing icicles in the tunnel. The train runs into a typical closed door for fumes control for people in cars.

Not my photos, but these are better anyway. A must do before the safety nazi's and/or bean counters can this at some stage. However its popular in summer, no so much on our two trips.
