Why cannot some lines be retained under this concept

Hertitage rail always seems to be focused on the higher cost run steam or railcar operations which need endless and increasing govt regulation. Australia hertiage rail lines are rarely in areas of high population or frequent visitor and many offer only just another rail ride on very limited timetables due to low numbers of riders. Many of gone bust in recent years because the trains bring in the cash, but failure of limited power rolling stock or infrastructure cuts their operation to nothing more than a static museam.

Running through some Heritage operators
- Zig Zag, struggling to recover
- Limestone I believe surrended and closed
- Mary Valley has its own issues
- Derwent Valley has spent nearly 20 years trying to repair their steamer with limited funds and the 40km line has been under care and MTCE more than its been open with intermitant govt funding to prop them up.

Others in more regional areas come and go like I think Ravenshoe.

NZ's Kingston flyer will be lucky to survive.

Most once you have done the trip, offer little reason to go back, especially the non gunzels. Unfortuantely the failure of HR operations usually means the lines fade into the sunset and there are a few that could have I think remained.

Below is a link to a line in Sweeden, where it seems they use rail trikes to provide a well used tourist service. 50km of track, 6hr riding from one end to the other, one way of course. I don't know much of the detail, but a friend who went said there was various options and you don't need to do the how run.

I was thinking how does this work, what if you come along and someone has stopped for a feed. Answer is simple. Everyone should have the same trike. In which case you simply swap to the front trike and go again. Not sure if thats what they do. and note in the photos gone is the safety nazi's, ie no yellow vests. Covered shoes should be the only limitation.

In areas where there is nice undulating terrain with some sort of scenery it probably provides better views than the 180 degree side view you get from a rail car. The physical aspect should also add some popularity to some non gunzels.
