I don't know whether this page will show up, but it's an article about the plan for freight rail around the south of Brisbane, along the motorway alignment supposedly. What's the story here? I don't think it's a core promise of the Coalition, maybe not a promise at all. Is it just a brain explosion by some LNP candidate?

Not new John.  Is linked with the Southern Freight Rail corridor http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/Projects/Name/S/Southern-Freight-Rail-Corridor-Study.aspx

We have raised the possibility a few times since 2006.  Cross River Rail is still needed for passenger growth.  The southern freight rail corridor is going to be a long slog ...

Yes, I knew about the project, and it being something to be completed after my lifetime (!), but a Coalition promise? I think that's a step beyond anything I've heard, as is the notion that it would run along the Gateway Motorway! That's certainly not the project as per 2010. Can we find anything said by Malcolm Cole, LNP candidate for Moreton?

These 2 projects are totally unrelated!!! A freight link which is very much needed to get trucks off the roadd has little to do with the CRR!  Get your snake oil here Get your snake oil here!

I agree Jonno. It's rubbish. The local residents' group is just clutching around for anything, ANYTHING to get rid of CRR from their area and lessen the impact of construction.
