The govt is trialling a Tangara where seats are along the side of two carriages, not in rows. So more standing, but quicker 2 get on and off

The Tangara with bench seats is just a trial. But if extended to other trains, means there will be fewer seats on Sydney trains.

I can't see this being popular.  There's next to no headroom in those things outside the vestibule areas (especially if they have done the upper deck as well).
