Review for 'Bombay Express'

QuoteReview for 'Bombay Express'

A REVIEW of the Gold Coast's railway line will finally let commuters have a say on the future of the region's overcrowded trains.

Commonly known as the "Bombay Express", the Gold Coast line has long been the subject of severe overcrowding issues and Coomera MP Michael Crandon said the review was a welcome move.

"The Government needs to provide a minimum of two additional peak-hour services by the end of 2011, morning and evening," he said. "The Gold Coast line has been ignored for long enough."

A spokesman for Trans-Link said meeting demand on Gold Coast lines was always a priority. "TransLink has added eight new peak services to the Gold Coast line since 2007 to continue to meet demand," he said.

Robert Dow, of RAIL Back On Track, a community support group for public transport, said the major problem for Trans-Link would be finding room to fit in more trains during peak hour.

Oh dear.  They need to get a grip.  They have been the most favoured line for a long time.

Please don't think we're all that way!

And yes, we most definitely have been the golden child.

we don't SR.

Perhaps they'd like to catch a Sunshine Coast train, but they may have to wait a bit for it, and to get there.

AIUI, the Gold Coast line timetable is next to be upgraded and one would assume that these issues would be addressed for them in that.

Mind you, few of the Sunshine Coast major issues were addressed in our revamp.

Hmmm, best stations, best trains, arguably the best bus connections and the possibly the best interurban service in the country. And they think they are ignored.
"Where else but Queensland?"

We could show them a thing or two on how to be ignored O_128.   :-w
