Free ride day.

Heading to Nambour to catch up with Sunshine Coast members.

Depart Central 8.37am (Springfield Central starter)  Arrive Nambour 10.26am.

Going to check out the tramway museum and then on to Eumundi.   Have a look at the upgrade works
( https://railbotforum.org/yourls/2 ).

Quote... Queensland Rail is upgrading and modernising the platform at
Eumundi station to improve facilities for customers. This is part
of a $4 million project to upgrade platforms at three Sunshine
Coast line stations, replacing them with more durable, high level
structures.

We are staging works to ensure that customers are able to
continue to access the train and platform during construction.
The first stage will involve works on the Brisbane end of the
platform and will take approximately ten weeks with the second
stage on the Gympie end to take approximately six weeks. ..

I was thinking of doing something very similar on Monday - perhaps a little later in the day though.

I will board at Central.  Will head in earlier and probably have breakfast at Central.

I will be travelling in the IMU cars if it is a hybrid (IMU/SMU).

Great pics of the new platforms at Pomona and Eumundi.
QR have done a fantastic job.

Now for more services (than the current two per day) so that people can appreciate the works.

NGRs won't be operating north of Nambour for the foreseeable future until ATP ETCS L2 compatible equipment is installed on the NGRs, which is some years off.
