March delays thus far ... to SC commuters.

The previous 3 months has seen a significant improvement in on time performances for Queensland Rail services on the Sunshine Coast/Caboolture line, and that is highly commendable and appreciated.
Thank you to the Chairman of Queensland Rail, Mr Glen Dawe and the Acting CEO, Mr Jim Benstead for their actions and oversight.
Thank you to the courteous staff of QR, and the maintenance crews, for their often unseen efforts to improve our lot.
Thank you also to the Transport Minister, the Hon Scott Emerson MP, for his direction to implement improvements to procedures and services.

The times reported below do not take into account the 3 minutes and 59 second allowance that QR's service contract to TRANSLink allows.
A Sunshine Coast, Rosewood or Gold Coast train e.g. can be up to 5 minutes and 59 seconds late and still be considered 'on-time'.

This does wonders for off-time performance figures.
All times shown below are actual arrival times.
Early arrival times are noted and subtracted from the TTL (total time lost), times less than 2 minutes late are NOT added to these figures.

N.B.
The Government and Queensland Rail recently announced the regular availability of on-time performance statistics showing contractual (events within QR control) and customer impact (i.e. force majeure or acts of God) performance statistics on a line by line basis, for peak services only.
This is a first and is to be applauded. Thank you Queensland Rail.
A perfect score by this author would be obtained by the provision of off-peak service statistics under the same criteria.

Re: Toilets; should I forget to check their status, the default has been to always assume that they are working and in order.
This check ONLY applies to the front 3 carriages in the direction of travel.

Arrived Palmwoods on time   service missed Narangba station, train held at Burpengary for southbound pax. Guard apologised.
                                               Usually a rare event, however on Friday 15 February, Burpengary was missed.

35 minutes late into Palmwoods   the usual double whammy signal failure between Petrie and Dakabin.
                                                       Last week it was being powered by a generator .. I wondered if maybe the fuel had run out.  :o

22 minutes late into Palmwoods

10 to 15 minute delay announced at Beerwah (along single line track), we waited for freight train and then a passenger train to pass southbound.
Guard announced delay as 'something ahead of us' with no further detail on reason.
Translink and QR issued NO tweets regarding these delays.
4:30pm train also affected by whatever the true cause of the issue/s was.
Translink website incorrectly stated that it was a mechanical issue with the 5pm train. That was NOT the case.

When the politicians caught the train, lack of communication was raised as a major problem for commuters. NOTHING has changed!

Arrived Central on time  within 2 minutes of timetable.  Service ran express Northgate to Eagle Junction to Bowen Hills, saving 2 minutes.

Arrived Palmwoods on time  QR passenger counters on service. Equalisation occurred at Caboolture at 6:00pm. 56 minutes standing.
