The photos I've posted below were taken from a bus tour I attended last weekend (10/10/10 onboard BT's MAN diesel bus L1010) showing some remains of railway track or infrastructure from some old branch lines around the Ipswich and Beaudesert areas. Hope you enjoy viewing!!

I'm not normally one to take a swing at foaming gunzels, but is that guy in the 12th photo really wearing a safety vest?

Looks like an interesting little trip though. Pity they built a motorway over the old rail corridor at Wacol.

We visited the Logan Coaches depot at Logan Village a bit earlier...........hence that gent still has the high-vis vest on.

Nice photos, thanks for posting them.

At least some of those locations are proposed for re-opening in the long term.

The proposed Ipswich to Ripley line would roughly follow the Churchill Branch.

The proposed Salisbury to Beaudesert line would re-use the original Beaudesert line corridor from Beaudesert to Gleneagle, before tooling off to the North West to meet the interstate line around Undullah..

Brisbane Valley is probably gone forever, except as a nice rail trail.

Likewise Gleneagle - Versedale - Jimboomba - Logan Village is definitely a goner and will make a good rail trail.

Bethania to Logan Village - with Yarrabilba going ahead who knows?  Would need a lot of straightening 'though.
