Couriermail Quest --> Queensland Rail's golden gate to commuter bliss at Bupengary station

QuoteTHE State Government will spend $150,000 to save some commuters about one minute of walking to one platform at Burpengary railway station.

Work will start later this month on a gate at the southern end of the eastern platform, plus an access ramp, go card machine, lights and security cameras.

State Member for Morayfield Darren Grimwade said the project "makes sense" and would ensure an easier commute.

"Along with some regular loyal commuters we have been fighting for this project over the past 12 months,'' Mr Grimwade said.

It will cut the walking time from the most southerly part of the eastern car park from around two minutes to about one minute.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-August.
