Beenleeigh station upgrade
« on: November 19, 2015, 11:37:37 AM »
I have noticed because of late running trains, Beenleigh is a bit of a bottle neck. I think in years to come the station will need to be upgraded to accommodate four platforms with quad tracks from Beenleigh to Holmview. Be nice to have a new improved station at Beenleigh with a cafe and other mod cons.

The station and the stabling yard are basically in the wrong spot.  Needs to be relocated slightly to the south to get it off the curve.

Should be able to have 2 island platforms configured for up-up down-down with either a main concourse or station office on the inbound platform island.  Yard would still be on the eastern side of the lines but the only conflicting move (if you can call it that) should be to move from the 2 centre tracks to the Gold Coast up line and then into the yard.  Plenty of room to push everything out, although it would increase walking distance slightly.  Stabling can be expanded and the track sectioning cabin could be relocated.

That makes sense a new design of that whole transit area hub
