^ Lets hope they re-introduce the 2nd go-card reader at the bottom of P1 ramp. The queues can be horrendous.

Surprised that fare gates have not been installed in the main entrance. Oh well, this is Queensland.

Would there be any point?  There are 4 access points to platform 1, and 3 to platform 2/3.  If you put a concourse at both Vulture St and Tribune St, you could reduce that to 3 in total, but without that there isn't going to be much point.

They will have designed the entrance to accommodate fare gates as it is now part of the design manual - Narangba, all the new Redcliffe stations etc can be configured this way if desired.  (I'm somewhat surprised they didn't do this at Kippa-Ring now.)

In addition to this my source is still adamant they plan to raise the platform level, even though there are no signs of this happening at the moment.

Well the level the steps, escalators and lifts take people to is the current level of the platform.  As you can see from where the train is stopped, it's also the location for disabled boarding.  You wouldn't even be able to add a hump without having a step or ramp - making the whole design flawed.  (Catch a lift to one level but still require a ramp to get up a bit further.)

This should've been done as part of the original design (i.e. floor level of the new entrance should be the level of a raised platform) with a ramp DOWN to the platform until it was raised to the same height.

Yes, the number of passengers using the ramp demands the return of the second go card reader. As mentioned the queues for the single reader have been horrendous. The ramp is used by passengers walking to/from LCCH, Mater, Somerville House, and St Lawrence's.

Incidentally I had a look at the crowd touching off UP end platform 1 Milton this morning.  Lot better now that there are two go card readers, short queues but flowed reasonably well.
Half baked projects, have long term consequences ...
